Day one

Just finished skyping JJG. I was able to introduce him to some of my tour mates and show him the motel etc. today we ride 43 miles mostly uphill to Alpine CA. I'm nervous about the hill but very impressed with the group support. We are all enchanted with each other at this point, which is quite nice. Weather is sunny and warm . I may take off my long pants before we leave as I don't think I will need them. Trying to figure out what to eat in the morning. Not so hungry. Did eat a small yogurt.
All uphill very hard. I sag go a mile because I ran out of water. I am very slow last one in each night. I am totally invigorated by the whole experience not the least is that I have climbed 5500 feet an am sleeping outside an it is 33 degrees. Folks couldn't be nicer or more supportive. I have been given good tips about nutrition and hydration--eat before u r hungry and drink before ur thirsty. That did help as today I climbed more and felt stronger. Of course it could have been the long talk I had with Daddy , Kathy, Mike,& Andrew. They got me thru and it was a nice visit. I cannot tell u how much ur support means to. It is so nice to hear from u. Keep sending me ur heart wires

  4. Hey GG, how was day 3? We are all very curious here. Angus has started playing outside after school with all the neighborhood kids now that the weather is warming up in DC. Gillis likes to roam all over the block, crawling from this house to that, testing all the stairs up to peoples' porches.

We bought a map to track your progress across the country. It should come on Wednesday. Every night or am, the boys and I will put a pin in for the progress you make. I miss talking to you, mommer! Lv, Marna
